The COLC will be developing different courses reviewing each component in the crude oil life cycle.The Crude Oil Logistics Committee (COLC) is moving forward with development and release of new online training courses related to the proper process and procedures for oil forecasting. This is an important component of the oil and gas industry as companies move through the crude oil life cycle of exploration, extraction, transportation, forecasting, nomination and sale. Crude Oil 101: The Basics
The first module in this new series is COLC Introduction to Crude Oil. In this introductory course, you will learn how a fictitious company called Red Energy explores and develops their land for crude oil, the various modes of transportation they use for moving their crude oil, and how Red Energy forecasts and nominates their crude oil to be sold to the market. Finally, you will learn now Red Energy’s monthly settlements process works to determine their revenue.
